The Broadview Marina area encompasses:

  • 34 boat slips for boats up to 23 feet*
  • 11 jetski tie-ups
  • permitted for four external moorings for larger boats, three are currently installed
  • slips are usually available to rent from the association for a very reasonable fee.
    • boats:  $500/season
    • jetskiis: $225/season
    • external moorings for larger boats:  $400/season
  • availability:  typically a close match to demand but tend to be available
  • boat must be registered in condo owners name or spouse's name
  • see download below for complete rules

* Clarification:  The manufacturer's "length name" used in the marketing of the boat does not always reflect the physical  length in either direction,  longer or shorter.  To avoid ambiguity, the Broadview Board has decided to accept the definition of boat length to match the definition as specified by the New Hampshire Marine Patrol.

See page 4 of the 2002-2003 Edition of the "Boater's Guide of New Hampshire".

"Boat length is measured from the tip of the bow in a straight line to the stern. This does not include outboard motors, brackets, rudders, bow attachments or swim platforms and ladders that are not a molded part of the hull."

The four basic Broadview requirements to protect both boats and docks
from severe and repetitive wind & wave action:
(required in the outer marina, suggested in other areas)

1)  Use at least 1/2" diameter nylon lines in all areas (required everywhere)
2)  Double up on critical lines to help prevent breakaway boats (required in outer marina)
3)  Use line shock absorbers like snubbers to protect lines, boats and docks from shock damage during windy weather. (required  in outer marina)
4)  Use at least 8" x 24" fenders to protect boats and docks from shock damage during windy weather. (required  in outer marina)

In the few inner-marina cases that may involve protection of Broadview property or other owner property, the marina committee may request certain tie-up improvements.  Considering the high price of boats and docks, this should prove to be extremely inexpensive insurance !

#1 & #2

Use at least 1/2" lines and double-up on critical lines to help prevent breakaway boats.
Long lines are usually much more effective
than short lines.

#3

Use line shock absorbers like snubbers.
(FYI: The fancy line storage is called "flemishing".)

#4

An 8" x 24" fender is more like a shock absorbing pillow rather than
the small anti-abrasion fender typically found on quiet lakes.
This may at-first seem like overkill but during an ocean-like Broads storm,
these will be pushed to the max to protect both the dock and your boat.
